I am delighted to have the opportunity to comment on behalf of Darden Smith and his ‘Be An Artist’ program.
I helped Darden coordinate a number of presentations in Paris, France for bilingual students. He presented at the famed American Library of Paris as well as at the International School of Paris. It was wonderful to watch students from over 10 different nationalities benefit and delight in the process and message of the ‘Be An Artist’ program. Darden was very adept at weaving in the local culture and environment with the songs he and the kids wrote, making it very relevant to their lives in Paris.I think it is a wonderful program and Darden deserves recognition for addressing this need in the ‘educational’ curriculum.”
